He was born in Hermanville, Mississippi to George and Ella Mae (Williams) Ashmore Sr., on May 20, 1942.
He is survived by his longtime love Arlene Raymer of Peoria; his children Teresa Ashmore of Grand Rapids, MI, George W. Ashmore III of Brentwood, TN, Darryl Ashmore of Boynton Beach, FL, Jessica Ashmore of Peoria; also his 4 sisters; and 6 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Luke Ashmore Sr.
He worked for many years at PABST brewery, and later worked for the Pere Marquette Hotel.
Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 23rd at Davison Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria with visitation from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the service. The Pastor Luke Ashmore Jr. will officiate. Burial will be private after services. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in George’s name to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate.
