Edna Louise Carlson

Edna Louise Carlson, age 85, of Washington, formerly of Peoria, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2016 at 8:33 a.m. at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She was born Aug. 29, 1930 in New York, NY to Paul and Edith (Casius) Starbranch. She married Lloyd “Bill” Carlson on Nov. 20, 1953 in Moline, IL. He survives along with three children; Lisa (Gary) Acton of Branson, MO, Peter (Lora) Carlson of Champaign, Karen (Keith) Ruckle of Metamora, five grandchildren; Beth (T.J.), Sara, Amy, Grant, Joanna, two great-granddaughters; Adelyn, Caralyn; one sister, Alice (Jerry) Robbins of Ocala, FL, one brother, Chuck (Linda) Starbranch of Virginia, and one sister-in-law, Ruthie Starbranch of Cromwell, CT. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and three sisters. Edna was a Registered Nurse since 1953. She was a very active member of Salem Lutheran Church in Peoria. Edna was passionate about sewing and quilting. She enjoyed gardening, reading, baking, and passing on her talents to others. Visitation will be Tuesday March 22, 2016 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Additional visitation will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday March 23, 2016 at Salem Lutheran Church where services will follow at 11 a.m. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.
