Diane Lynn Best

Diane Lynn Best, age 69, of Peoria, passed away Sunday, Sep. 3, 2017 at 10 p.m. at the Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. She was born Aug. 17, 1948 in Peoria to Albert and Irene (Dochterman) Whitehead. She married Charles Best on June 22, 1968 at Christ Lutheran Church in Peoria. He survives along with three sons: Benjamin Best, Andy (Molly) Best, David (Bekah) Best all of Peoria, twelve grandchildren: Sydney, Silas, Caroline, Grace, Cora, Andrew, Olive, Ethan, Hannah, Logan, Jacob, and Savannah. She was also survived by one sister, Elaine (Ron) Webster of Simi Valley, CA, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Philip Whitehead. Diane has been the school Secretary at Christ Lutheran School for the last 30 years. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and was very devoted to the school and church. Diane also loved to play in and direct the Bell Choir at Christ Lutheran Church. Visitation will be Friday Sep. 8, 2017 from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church. Funeral services will be Saturday, Sep. 9, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the church. Additional visitation will be one hour prior to the services on Saturday. Rev. Karl Eckhoff will officiate. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery at a later date.
