David was born November 30th, 1964, in Hopedale, Illinois, to Mack and Merci Street. He was the second of four children who grew up together in Peoria, Illinois. After graduating from high school, David went to college where he continued his wrestling career.
Shortly after, he followed his dream of serving his country and enlisted and honorably served in the Marine Corps from 1988 until 1996. Later, he re-enlisted into the Army where he served and continued his combat assignments, including Operation Desert Storm/Desert Shield (1991), Operation Enduring Freedom (2007), and Operation Iraqi Freedom (2010). Earning the title of Sergeant First Class, he retired in 2021 with honors from the United States Army with over 20 years of combined service and earning hundreds of coins, letters of recognition, decorations, and awards. He led as a Squad Leader, Team Leader, Platoon Sergeant, Operations Sergeant, and Enlisted Trainer and Coach. He was a natural leader and liked by many soldiers through all of the states and countries in which he traveled and worked.
He will always be remembered as the "Jack of all Trades." From his own handyman business to his fond stories of working as a Brinks armed security operator, he truly made the most of everything he did. He enjoyed many hobbies including NASCAR, refereeing soccer, winning at scrabble and backgammon, attending MLB games (Go Cubs!), watching classic films, and playing Jedi mind tricks in a variety of settings. He enjoyed baking and was well-known as a pie extraordinaire. During his retirement, he planned on traveling America, visiting and revisiting museums, car shows, national parks, national monuments, and historical sights.
David was most proud of being a father and lived by the phrase "Family First." Fatherhood, he described, was meant for him. He was blessed with six children; five daughters; Brandis, Jennifer, Katherine (Harli), Logan (Jamal), Meagan, and his only son; Nikolas, along with his seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was always very involved in each and every one of their various academic and career successes and accomplishments.
David was a friend to many and a stranger to none. He is survived by his children; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; "Big Brother", Raymond (Donna); and his sister, "Sissy" Maxine. He will also be extremely missed and remembered by his family members, friends, and anyone who got the chance to talk with him. He was welcomed into the afterlife by his parents.
In true David fashion, a memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria.
