Colleen Anne Marvin, 64, of Peoria, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. She was born on September 8, 1958 in Peoria, a daughter of Robert J. Aylward and Betty L. (Yocum) Aylward.
Colleen is survived by her two children, Emily (Kevin) Finley of Bloomington and Thomas (Bailey Lushina) Marvin of Peoria from her marriage to Mark A. Marvin of Peoria. Two sisters, Kathy (Max) Smith of Peoria and Mary (Gary) Baior of Williams Bay, Wisconsin; one brother, James (Terri) Aylward of Nashville, Tennessee; and her beloved nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother and sister-in-law, Kevin (Terri) Aylward; niece, Kristen Zang; and nephew, Jimmy Aylward. Colleen never stopped loving and missing her lost family members, and we take comfort that they are all finally reunited.
Colleen was a graduate of Manual High School Class of 1976. She last worked as the office manager at Barrack's Cater Inn in Peoria for 10 years, a job she loved with coworkers that became part of her family. She retired this January only after chemotherapy treatments made her too tired to continue working. Colleen had previously worked as a school secretary for St. Patrick Catholic School in Washington and an executive assistant at WABCO.
Colleen was an excellent event planner and hostess, a wonderful listener with a great sense of humor, and a generous friend to all. She loved finding ways to celebrate all of life's occasions with her family and friends, and we will miss the special touches she brought to every holiday. She had a gift for making everyone around her feel special.
Colleen's family has arranged a celebration of life gathering from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm Sunday, June 11, 2023 at Barrack's Hospitality Group Banquet Center & Catering, 1224 West Pioneer Parkway, Peoria, Illinois 61615. Cremation has been entrusted to the Davison-Fulton-Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria.
