He was born on November 10, 1953 in Coila, MS to Alex and Lucy (Rias) Jones. He married Crystal Auvil on September 7, 1997 in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are his five children, Chestina Jones of Peoria, Tony (Britt) Jones of Grass Lake, MI, Chester Jones Jr, Shewona Jones, and Rosdina Jones all of Peoria; sixteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; eleven siblings, Alex Jones, Earl Jones, Jerry Jones, JB Jones ,Timmy Jones, Lucinda Jones, Gloria king, Hattie Jones, Sara Phillips, Brenda jones, and Luvenia jones, and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Melissa Jones.
Chester served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1978. He received his Master's Degree in Business Management and Administration from ISU in 2010. He worked at Keystone Steel and Wire for many years until retiring in 1998. Chester was a member of Dayton Ave. Baptist Church in Peoria. He enjoyed fishing, going to cars shows and had a passion for Mustangs. Chester was an avid reader who loved learning and the pursuit of knowledge. His greatest love was his family and was active in both his children and grandchildrens events.
Cremation will be accorded and Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton is in charge of arrangements.
