Betty Miller

She was born December 5, 1927 in Alexandria, MO. She married J, Dean Miller on August 1, 1948. They celebrated their 63rd anniversary this past August.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Gladys Gates, Step-father, Melvin Gates, one brother, “ER” Richard Gates, a niece, Cindy Rotramel and a great-nephew J.B. Miller.

Her motto for life was live, love and laugh. She enjoyed life by being blessed with many wonderful friends whom she loved dearly.

She was a 50 year member of the former 1st Presbyterian Church and has been a member of 1st Federated Church for 11 years.

Betty enjoyed her working days. She was credit manager for several local businesses, including Illinois Mutual, Caterpillar, Tonemaster and Rain Bird Eastern Sales.

She is survived by her husband, Dean, two nieces, three nephews, several great-nieces and nephews, many cousins, including her cousins, Joe Peil and Patty Schlink, who was like a daughter to her and was also her caregiver. A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2012 from 4 to 7 pm at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. A service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, January 30, 2012 at First Federated Church with a visitation one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Darren Hoffman and Rev. Henry Hein will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
