Barbara Kunkel-Veach

Born Jan. 10, 1932, in Princeville, she was a daughter to the late Hugh and Mabel Greene-Colgan. She married John J. Kunkel on June 26, 1956. He preceded her in death on Nov. 22, 1972. Barb was remarried to Jesse Veach on March 17, 1981. He also preceded her in death on Dec. 3, 2009.

She worked as a clerk for Caterpillar Inc. until her retirement in 1992.

She was past president of the Caterpillar Square Dance Club, a volunteer at the American Red Cross and a retired senior volunteer person.

Survivors include three children, Lisa R. (Gary) Hill of Osage Beach, Mo., Steven (girlfriend, Charlett) Kunkel of Peoria and Doug (Rhonda) Kunkel of Hopewell; four grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; one stepdaughter, Dona (Matthew) Graham of Terre Haute, Ind.; one sister, Madeline Morrissey of Peoria; and one brother, Michael Colgan of Monica; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, two brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be between the hours of 5 and 7 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2014, at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel, 2021 N. University St., Peoria. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 6, 2014, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Mary's of Lourdes Cemetery in Germantown Hills.
