Barbara "Barb" Ann Bechtel

She was born on January 22, 1945 in Chicago. She moved to Tuscola, IL at a young age and graduated from Tuscola High School, where she participated in cheerleading and other school activities.

She married Dennis Bechtel on June 16, 1963 in Tuscola, IL. Barb and Dennis recently celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary.

She was a dear Mother to her children and had a close and loving relationship with her grandchildren. She loved her family.

Survivors include her husband, Dennis, three children: Alicia (Iris) of Orlando, FL, Gregory of Denver, CO, Bradley (Angela) of Plainfield, IL, four grandchildren: Emily, Caroline, Shea, Ryan and one sister, Susan McNeill (Lee) of Charleston, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Margaret Nuccio and one sister, Jeanne Hudson.

She was employed as an Administrative Assistant at the Special Education Association of Peoria County (SEAPCO).

She was a member of Northwoods Community Church in Peoria. She enjoyed flower gardens, crafts, photobooks, shopping, and family trips to Boston and Nantucket.

Private family services will be held at the Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital for research.
