Adrienne Joan Steinberg

Adrienne was born November 26, 1929, to Raymond S. and Hannah (Sachs) Meyers. She grew up on the north side of Chicago where she became a diehard Chicago Cubs fan.

Adrienne attended the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, where she met the love of her life, Milton “Mickey” Steinberg. They married July 6, 1952, and spent most of their married lives in La Salle-Peru where they raised their three daughters, Debbie, Bobbi, and Stacey.

Besides watching Cubs games, Adrienne enjoyed playing golf, tennis, mahjong, and card games especially bridge and euchre. She loved eating at the local restaurants with Mickey and later with her girlfriends. She and Mickey also spent many nights dancing at Illinois Valley League events and Deer Park Country Club.

She is survived by two daughters, Debbie (Joe) Downs of Peoria and Roberta “Bobbi” (John) Doyle of Monument, Colorado; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one daughter, Stacey Miller.

Graveside service will be at 12:00 pm, Sunday, March 17, 2024 at Peoria Hebrew Cemetery in West Peoria, followed by a visitation lunch at Debbie’s home. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria.
