MERRITT, Sr., William H.96, of Pensacola, Florida passed away Friday, October 31, 2014. He was born in Warsaw, North Carolina and moved to Pensacola, Florida in 1941 when he was stationed there with the United States Navy. William served proudly in the United States Navy as an Airplane Mechanic. After he was medically discharged from the Navy, William continued working at the Pensacola Navy base in civil service. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. William is survived by his sons, William H. Merritt Jr. and wife, Elizabeth, and Raymond Merritt; daughters, Sheilah Blizzard and husband, David, and Susan Bushey; grandchildren, Kim Kennedy, Cayce Balara, William H. Merritt III, and Rebecca Bushey; and great grandchildren, Devin, Eoin, and Aine Balara, and Zoe and Griffin Merritt.
