We will have a graveside Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 11 am at:
Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel & Memorial Park
3351 Scenic Highway in Pensacola, Florida
Navy Chaplain, Dave Gibson, will officiate the service.
Shirley was born on November 24, 1924 in Cascilla, MS. She survived: Her parents, Charles Aubrey Hyde and Ruth Corrine Sherril Hyde. Three husbands, Woodrow Tennison, Ray Granholm, & Delbert Fisher. Her younger brother & youngest sister, James Morris Hyde and Alice Faye Howze. Her youngest son, Charles Ray Granholm.
Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Marion Rivers Coleman, of Greenwood, MS; her eldest son, Wendell Tennison of Greenwood, MS; her niece, Rivers Coleman Brauer, of Chesapeake, VA and Rivers’ husband & daughter, Bob Brauer and Channing Fitzgerald; her niece, Karen Granholm, of Louisville, KY; her nephew, Michael Granholm, of Grenada, MS; and her cousins, Paul Sherril Collins of New Orleans, LA; Barbara Ann Ogden, husband, Bob Ogden, and daughter, Jessica Ogden, of Pensacola, FL.
Shirley’s two grandsons, Chuck Granholm and Mark Granholm both reside in Louisville, KY. She was also blessed with 5 great grandchildren – Anastasia, Kelton, Gavin, Josh, & Hannah. Her daughter-in-law, Betty Granholm, resides in Joplin, MO.
Shirley spent the past sixty years living in Pensacola, FL. She worked as a waitress at the Oscar’s Restaurant where she served many loyal customers. She also owned & operated a small sandwich shop at a local flea market where she was known for her fresh strawberry pie!
Shirley and Ray Granholm were members of the Warrington Baptist Church. They were also members of the Shriner’s Organization, with Ray being a member of the Oriental Band. Together, they worked to raise money for the Shriners Hospitals for Children; and they enjoyed many friendships in this organization. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Shriners Hospitals.
When Shirley married Delbert Fisher, they both became members of the Community of Christ Church in Pensacola, FL. Shirley is now with our Lord, whom she loved with her whole heart.
Shirley loved all animals, and she owned many dogs throughout her life. They were the luckiest dogs in Pensacola!
