Ruth was born July 18, 1927 in Farmington, Maine to Henry Metcalf and Lyda Dyer Metcalf. She was a horse trainer, training horses for harness racing. At one time Ruth held 3 jobs to support her family. Ruth enjoyed collecting carnival glass and belonged to many Carnival Glass Collectors Clubs. She also loved playing card games and played almost every day.
Preceding Ruth in death are her husband, John Phillips and daughter, Lydia Parda.
She is survived by her sons, George Phillips and wife Debi, James Phillips and Steven Phillips and wife, Michelle; daughter, Judy Feretti; nine grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm, Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel with visitation from 1:30 pm until service time. Reverend Pat Mobley will be officiating. Interment will followed at Bayview Memorial Park.
Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel, 3351 Scenic Highway, is entrusted with arrangements.
