Not a single day has gone by that I have not thought about you, mom.  The love you showed me and my kids will forever hold a special place in my heart and theirs.  I promise to honor your memory and make sure all of your great grand children know how special you were and how much you would have loved them too. Happy Easter Mom.  I know you are with the one who we celebrate Easter for.  This I believe was your favorite Holiday, with spring , newnest and hope.  You always bought us Easter outfits and we went to Church.  Even as adults you still bought us chocolate bunnies. I miss you more now but know you are in the best place of all. I love you!

Tomorrow afternoon Mom, I'll be in the place I love the most Hawaii - but not being able to call and talk to you from there - will make it a bit less special - you championed me from 4th grade football to pinning my Aviator Wings on me if anyone wanted to look in a dictionary for the word mom ...they would see your picture.....

It's Thanksgiving Eve and it isn't the same this year without you here. My mind wonders in this loneliness of the memories of all the years you would have been spending all day today cutting up onions, celery, green pepper and making corn bread so you could be ready to have the turkey in the oven tonight and in the morning we would all take turns tasting the dressing.  This year there won't be any. No stacks of pies to eat. No purple stuff. Just fond memories of you spending time with my kids the days before Thanksgiving and our big family get together which have long since past. This year I am thankful for the memories of all the years we spent together as family. You were the definition of a matriarch and our family will never be the same without you. I miss you so much.

It has been three months now since you passed and it seems just like yesterday as I go thru the emotions of that early morning.  I could not sleep this morning thinking about you and how much I miss you being here.  The holidays are just around the corner and I cannot imagine what it's going to be like without you here but I know you are in Heaven and watching over us and that is what brings me comfort.  You fought a long, hard battle and it was time for you to go home but it doesn't make it any easier to deal with the hollow pain that has been left in my heart.  I love you.

Well Momma, the good Lord came and took you home.  I heard you talk about this a million times and I never would let myself imagine how I would feel when it happened. I never wanted you to go and leave me.  There were so many more things we were supposed to do together. So many more conversations to have and jokes to share but that all changed at 3:20am July 26 when I felt you take that last breath.  You fought so hard and it was so hard for me to let you go but it was your time.  It was your time to be welcomed home by angels and taken to meet Jesus.  No more pain, no more tears, no more agony and strife.  You are home now. 

 I feel so lost and alone now that you are gone.  You were my hero. You taught me things you never even realized like how to give and how to love unconditionally. You taught by example how to be strong and how to stand up for yourself.  You taught me self-worth and dignity. You taught me to love Jesus and you showed me the way.  You were always there for me and for my children.  Every ball game, swim meet, every cheerleading competition, musical, volleyball game, track meet, baseball game and football game.  You were there cheering them on just like you had cheered for me.  You taught me to never give up and to persevere even when the odds were against you. I have never known you to give up on anything.  You taught me to have faith and to trust in myself.  You were more than my mother, you were my closest friend.

I found the poem you left in your Bible and I have to think you left it for me.  I have used your bible so many times and I never saw it before.   I'm not sure I will ever stop crying, but a sense of calm came over me as I read it. Not a day goes by that I don't think about you and wish you were still here but I know some day we will all be reunited in Heaven and I can't wait to see you again.

Missing you so much Mom.  I've listened to a few songs that speak of where you are now, Heaven.   I know your happy and the pain we feel will one day be gone when we all join you. I know you would want us all to go on and not be sad because you are in the place we all strive to be one day.  I think though I will be sad for a long time.I love you.

You are the strongest woman I have ever known. You provided more for our family than I will ever be able to give gratitude for; your time, your love, your energy, your money. Nothing in this world will shine as bright as it once did for me. Just about everything I ever did growing up was somehow influenced by you. I will miss you every day, Granny. I will see you again soon, I love you.

Peggy you will be missed by your love ones and friends that loved you.  You were a joy to work with at NETSAFA.  Every time that we met out at NEP ballpark we talked about our grandchildren and their playing ball.  It was always a joy to see you each time.  My prayers are with your family.  I love you.

From the time I was little I was never easy to handle but I met my match with you. You were a strong, tuff and hard working women. You tell it like it is and make it known. I respect you for all that. You have had apart in watching me grow up and making me who I am today. I Thank you & Love you for all that. Most importantly you showed me how wonderful family time is. I'll never forget our Holidays we all shared together . I'll never forget swimming for hours in the pool you had put in. Just so our family & love ones had somewhere to enjoy each other & have fun together.
I know I wasn't one to just come up and hug you and say I love you . So often in our busy lives we forget how precious those simple words mean and don't take time out to say it enough. I wish I could have gotten to tell you more how I loved you. I will think of you Everytime I go to Olive Baptist Church ! Seating in "Granny's section" as our family calls it. I will think of you when I smell lavender because I knew you loved it. I will think of you everytime I look at the scar on my right arm from the surgery I had to have . You made sure I had it done and it was taken care of. 
 
This past Saturday when I saw you last it had been awhile. I seen you in pain & you had done your job here. You looked so worn out & God knows when it's our time to go. You held on long enough !!! I got to touch your hand & tell you" I love you". I will never forget that ... I know tomorrow will be hard for all of us. I also know that you are in a better place and at peace. I couldn't  ask for anything more for someone I love. I also thank God for Aunt Wanda doing such a wonderful job taking care of you. So Granny I won't say bye I'll say I'll see you in Heave ❤

Peggy one of my fondest memories of you and I  always will be you pushing me on my tricycle around and around the dining room table because I was so short my feet couldn't reach the pedals. Marilyn and I were sadden to hear the passing of our sweet cousin, Peggy Joyce. We remember her fondly from all the Fletcher reunions when she would bring her Florida family to Alabama. Our deepest sympathies to her family and many friends. May she R.I.P. with the angels.
