Michael David Lawton

David was born in Pensacola, FL to Gilbert Paul Lawton and Mary Elizabeth (Ryan) Lawton. He was a loving son, brother, husband, and father. He graduated from Woodham High School in 1966 and then enlisted in the Marine Corps. As a retired Vietnam veteran, he spent 20 years serving his country. David then went on to work for the Civil Service at Pensacola, NAS for many years and eventually retired. He loved to go fishing, work in his yard, and go to church.

David is preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert Lawton (Mary Elizabeth); sisters, Francis Gibson, Susan Vaughn; brother, Charles “Buddy” Lawton.

He is survived by his wife Judith Lawton; sister, Lynda Myer; daughters, Laura Brown (Robert) of Pensacola, Angela Ballard (Kenneth) of Pensacola; grandsons, David Brown, Keaton Ballard, Dillon Ballard.

Pall Bearers/Military Honors: United States Marine Corps.

Honorary Pall Bearers: Robert Brown, Kenneth Ballard, David Brown, Keaton Ballard, and Dillon Ballard.

A visitation will be held at 10:30am until a Memorial Service to begin at 11:00am Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home, 1985 W 9 Mile Rd, Pensacola, FL 32534. Committal service will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery.
