1935-2018
Marietta Rhein Catalani, 82 of Pensacola, FL passed away Friday, June 1, 2018, at her home.
Marietta was born December 28, 1935 in Eudora, Arkansas to Sol and Ruth (Fitzgerald) Rhein. She grew up in Winsboro, Louisiana with her brother, Sgt. Mjr. Sollie F. Rhein USAF, Ret.
Marietta attended Louisiana State University and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Education. She began teaching in Lake Charles, LA. She taught in Lake Village, AR; Meridian, MS; Pensacola, FL and Rota, Spain. She retired from the Escambia County school system in Pensacola after 40 years of teaching.
Marietta married Joseph F. Catalani in 1959 and they had three children.
She was an active member of Little Flower Catholic Church and served on the Little Flower Catholic School Board for numerous years.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, Joseph F. Catalani; her children: Joseph F. Catalani, Jr. (Allison), Angela Alberda and Sam Catalani; six grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home and Gardens from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Sunday, June 10, 2018. A Rosary will be said beginning at 5:00 PM.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM on June 11, 2018 at Little Flower Catholic Church with Rev. Matt Worthen as the Celebrant and Monsignor Slade Crawford as the Concelebrant.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Little Flower Catholic Church, 6495 Lillian Hwy., Pensacola, FL 32506.
