Malcolm is survived by his wife Judy Nix, his children, Diana Wright, Steven Nix, Jimmy Nix, Julie Nix, His brothers, Clyde Nix and Eugene Nix, sister, Delores Dewayne, ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Malcolm joined the Marine Corps at 17 and served for 20 years. He was a drill instructor at Parris Island early in his Career and worked in Civil Service for 18 years. He was a Vietnam Veteran and immensely proud to be a marine.
Malcolm loved all things outdoors. His hobbies were fishing, hunting, camping, waterskiing, and loved to go on vacation with his family. He was fun loving and always had a joke or two he wanted to share with someone. He was a prankster, and you never knew when he was going to jump out and scare you. He loved to play cards, horseshoes, and board games.
Malcolm’s most important accomplishment was fatherhood. He was an amazing father and constant leader in his family’s life. He impacted our lives in so many ways and was a constant source of encouragement.
Malcolm was married to his beloved wife Judy Nix for 60 years He was her protector, love of her life, companion, best friend, and soul mate.
Services for Malcolm Nix will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 7, 2022, at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel with interment following at Barrancas National Cemetery with full military honors. The funeral cortege will depart the funeral home at 12:00 p.m.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Thursday.
