She was born May 1, 1943 in Gadsden, AL to Boston Massey and Esther Edith Cannon Massey. Linda was a graduate of Hayneville High School in Hayneville, AL. She attended University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa, majoring in interior design. Linda loved Alabama football and followed them faithfully over her lifetime.
Linda began her career at Dexter’s interior design and then moved on to Sherman Williams as a design specialist. She was hired to redecorate the entire apartment building across the street, Capital Towers, which was a major overhaul. Linda managed the project so well she was hired full time to manage the property and all of its upkeep.
The biggest success of her career began at The American Life Insurance company which launched in 1973. Linda was Vice President working in tandem with President Randall K. ‘Skip’ Hunter. They worked together in insurance and investments for over 40 years.
Apart from all her success in business, Linda loved gardening, antiquing, cooking, and socializing with others at special events. She really enjoyed the arts including the symphony and opera. Linda was a member of Pensacola Symphony Orchestra Guild and the First United Methodist Church of Pensacola.
She is survived by her brother, John Boston Massey and his wife Deborah Adamson Massey, with her nieces Priscilla Massey Jones (husband Brian Anthony Jones) and Lori Olivia Massey, including her great nephews and nieces: Julius Anthony Jones, Evan Emmanuel Jones, Cassandra Whitney Jones and Giselle Alair Jones.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to these two organizations.
