Julio Pineda

Born in 1944 in Nicaragua, Julio immigrated to New York at 16. The city quickly became his home both in fact and in his heart. He created a new career path doing electrical design and engineering for diverse projects including nuclear power plants, paper mills, and civil engineering works.

Julio was The Most Interesting Man in the World and his life was filled with adventure and friendship. He took every opportunity to say yes to life and he gifted this outlook to his children. He brought humor and kindness to everyone he met and is beloved by friends and family. He had many interests, exploring the world through travel, books and photography. Although his life was vast and accomplished his greatest love was always his children.

He was preceded in death by his mother Dolores, father Ernesto, sister Silenia, brother Cairo, and son, Brian Pineda. He is survived by his daughter, Darlene Pineda and son-in-law Stephen Carleton; his step grandson Robert; his long-time companion Lynda Kiefer; and his brothers, Ernesto, Max, and Marvin; and nieces and nephews.
