Nita was the 3rd child born in Pensacola, Florida to William Wiley Barrett and Edna Irene Haynes on November 5, 1920. Nita grew up in Pensacola and married Henry Nickolas Kriszamer in 1947.
She worked at the Lewis Bear company in Pensacola prior to her marriage and then spent 20+ years as a Navy wife, traveling throughout the country and Guam with her husband and two children and dogs.
Nita was preceded in death by her parents, husband Kris, brother Lancelot, and sister Elaine. She is survived by her son, Kurt (K.C.) Kriszamer, daughter, Kelly Kriszamer Wilson, son-in-law Hamlin Wilson, sister Yvonne Berry and many nieces and nephews.
Nita enjoyed a life well lived, was a brave Navy wife and was adored as a mother and an avid golfer who could always be counted on to invite friends to join her at home with a glass of champagne after a round of golf. A lover of dogs, she and her husband met in 1945 at a dog show in Pensacola. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Processional will leave from Bayview Fisher-Pou, 3351 Scenic Highway, at 9:00 a.m. Thursday, October 26th, with graveside service at Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS at 10:00 a.m. Friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in honor of LCDR H. N. and Juanita Kriszamer to Disabled American Veterans at www.dav.org.
