With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jeffrey David Tompkins, age 63, on December 26th, 2022. Born at Mountain Home AFB, Idaho to Earl and Sally Tompkins, Jeff joined the United States Air Force, where he served from March 1978 to April 1998, traveling extensively during his time in the service. He retired as a Msgt.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Crystal Tompkins; daughter, Stephanie Tompkins; son, Paul Tompkins; and three grandsons, Julian, Gabriel and Nathaniel. He is also survived by his brother, Jerry Tompkins; two sisters, Kay Austin and Carol Dodson; nieces, Holly Curtis, Laine Young, and Devon Weaver; nephews, Matthew Tompkins and Ian Hamilton. Additionally, he is survived by three aunts, Marlene Arnold, Dannis Crowe, and Sandy Whitaker.
Jeff was a kind and generous man, always willing to lend a helping hand and bring joy to those around him. His easy going nature, love for animals and sense of humor will be deeply missed by his family and friends. As a military veteran, he served his country with honor and distinction, and will be remembered for his bravery and dedication to duty. In addition to his family, Jeff enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing, golfing, walking on the beach and watching sports.
Jeff will be forever remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. His memory will be a constant source of comfort and strength for those he left behind. May Jeff's memory bring peace and comfort to his loved ones during this difficult time.
A visitation & reception for Jeffrey will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2023 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, 619 New Warrington Road, Pensacola, FL 32506. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm. Burial with full military honors will follow at 2:00 pm at Barrancas National Cemetery, 1 Cemetery Road, Pensacola, FL 32508.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be much appreciated to help with Final Expenses and helping cover the loss of support for Jeff's widow, Crystal Tompkins.
