1942-2014
James H. Becker “ Jim “ was born in Taylorville, ILL. On December 25, 1942, “ A Christmas gift” was born. Passed away in peace at his home on July 14, 2014. He graduated from high school and served and retired from the U. S. Navy after 23 years. Jim married Dottie McKinney in 1973 and settled in the Pensacola area. Jim served the community by working and retiring from the county Civil Service. Jim was a gentle, kind, compassionate and loving man. He loved his natural family and his inherited family. Jim spent his life serving others , his country, his community, his wife, his boys and his grandchildren. He traveled the country extensively, camping, fishing and entertaining all those that came to his campsite. Jim is survived by his brothers, Dale and John; his sisters, Carolyn, Donna, Connie and Barbara; one son, Mark and five grandchildren, Zac, Erin, Collin, Austin and Jourdan; and one of his better friends, an African, Rev. Peter Ndamba from Zimbabwe. Visitation will be held from 11 AM- 12 Noon on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Eastern Gate Funeral Home with services to follow at 12 Noon. Interment will take place at Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens.
