Jackie was born November 21, 1966 in Charleston, SC to a military family. Like military brats she moved around a few times before winding up in Pensacola after a few years in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba
Jackie graduated Escambia High in 1984 and began working her way through college. She completed her B.S. degree in 1989 and ultimately received a Masters of Accountancy in 1996. She used these degrees in her work at Pensacola State College where she worked for close to 25 years. She truly enjoyed her work and the wonderful people with whom she developed close relationships. Recently she was making a transition to work with Pensacola City Police department. She was very excited about making the change and had great expectations for her future.
In her spare time Jackie enjoyed the wonderful outdoor life this area provides. She volunteered with Share the Beach to walk the beach and help protect sea turtle nests. During her years she assisted thousands of sea turtles to a sage start. she also enjoyed jet skiing and boating with friends. Her excitement for every dolphin, turtle or ray was contagious.
Jackie's passing is proceeded by that of her mother Lamoyne in 2010. Her abrupt passing leaves a grieving husband, Rick Dobyns, children Nick Padilla and Elizabeth Dobyns, brother James Edwards (Elizabeth), uncle Doug and aunt Mary Ann Edwards.
