On May 15, 2015, Gavin Reynolds Parks, age 43, went to be with our Lord. He was born in Miami, FL in 1972 and grew up in Pensacola. He lived in the Denver area of Colorado from approximately 1989 until 2002. While in Colorado, he became a NASCAR crew chief and owner of Performance Engineering Technologies serving race car devotees. After returning to Pensacola, he established a mobile marine service, and in 2007, he founded The Maintenance Shoppe offering comprehensive repair and retrofitting services for the boating industry. Gavin was an enthusiastic and contributing member of the Pensacola Fishing Forum for more than a decade.
He is survived by Pensacola relatives: his devoted wife of 15 years, Anastasia E. Parks; father- and mother-in-law Jeffrey C. and Bonnie J. Sutherland; brother- and sister-in-law Jeffrey M. and Ana M. Sutherland; and nephews Andy (14) and Joey (11) Sutherland. He is also survived by his siblings Grant W. Parks of Arvada CO, Austen Parks of Las Vegas NV, and Jill German of Simla CO.
A Remembrance Gathering for Gavin will be held at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel on 3351 Scenic Hwy., Pensacola, at 4:00 PM on Wednesday May 27, 2015, followed by a memorial service at 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hotel for Dogs and Cats at 4110 Creighton Road in Pensacola.
