Elise K. Sutton

1915-2013

Elise K. Sutton, 97, "Absent the body, present the LORD" February 17, 2013.

Elise was the daughter of R. C. Keith and Ida Stevens Keith. She was born August 13, 1915 in Greenwood, FL and was a resident of Gulf Breeze for over 50 years.

She was married 50 years to the late Preston C. (Pete) Sutton. She is survived by daughter, Patricia Sutton Smith, sons Tom Sutton and David Sutton, grandchildren, Cynthia Vickrey Lakeman, James "Bubba" Vickrey, Lawerence Vickrey, Shelly Cowley, Marynell Grubb, John Sutton and step-granddaughter Terrie Vidal. Elise has thirteen great grandchildren, and ten great, great, grandchildren. She is survived by three sisters, Grace Barry, Flora Ramsey, Dorothy Bowers and one brother, R. C. Keith Jr., son-in-law C.C. Smith and sister-in-law Wynn Keith.

A lifetime member of First Baptist Church Pensacola, until her death she held the longest membership, having joined FBC in February 1919. Her service at FBC continued until Elise was in her 90's. Over the many decades and generations she served in the Girl Ambassadors and most recently Samaritan Hands Ministry. She was a devoted member of the Pleitz Chapel Bible Study class.

For 30 years Elise was the bookkeeper at Escambia Farmers Supply in Pensacola.

Having a sharp inquisitive mind Elise enjoyed birds, plants, and flowers, reading and offering substantial opinions on current affairs, complete with solutions.

The family wishes to express gratitude to our mother's health care providers, caregiver Sheryl Lendo and the 400 hall staff at Bay Breeze.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Samaritan Hands Ministry, First Baptist Church, Pensacola, FL.

Visitation will be Friday, February 22, 2013 at 1:00pm with services following at 2:00pm in the Pleitz Chapel, First Baptist Church, Pensacola FL. Burial will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.
