Dorothy Jane (Reinhart) Rouse age 86 of Pensacola died Wednesday August 11th, 2021, peacefully in her nursing home in Tampa Florida. Dorothy Jane was born in Covington Kentucky on August 15th, 1934, to Raymond and Lenora Reinhart. She graduated from Dixie Heights Highschool in 1952 and married her Husband, Gayle Robert Rouse, in 1958. Dorothy Jane and Gayle moved to Texas before settling down in Pensacola Florida in 1963. She spent the majority of her life in Pensacola before spending her final years with her family in Tampa Florida.
Dorothy Jane, affectionately known as DJ, loved traveling with Gayle during their courtship. One of her favorite trips was visiting Gayle in Germany where he was stationed during his time in the army. DJ was the muse for her loving Gayle’s photography that captured their adventures. After their travels, they moved where their shared passion for sports would take them, from Texas to Pensacola Florida where they started their family. DJ found an outlet for her determined spirit in sales. She started her career selling insurance at Pensacola Airport. She later went on to work in real estate with Better Homes & Gardens. DJ loved her parents and was inspired to get into real estate to follow in the footsteps of her father, valuing the connection they shared in that work. She even tried her hand at playing piano as a way to connect to her mother. Dorothy was active in her children’s school activities and showing dogs throughout the southeast, sharing her love of traveling with her family.
She is preceded in death by her son FHP Trooper Stephen G Rouse; her husband Gayle Robert Rouse; her parents Raymond and Lenora Reinhart; her brother Jack Reinhart and all her wonderful dogs.
