Desmond ”Trick” Eton Yong, went home to be with his Lord and risen Savior on January 13, 2017 at the age of 90 in Pensacola, Florida. Desmond was a loving husband, brother and uncle who enjoyed traveling, dancing, playing field hockey, tennis and singing in his church choir. Desmond also expanded his communications skills working as a disc-jockey for WCOA in Pensacola while selling insurance for Prudential. Desmond retired from the Florida Division of Forestry in early 2000 after the passing of his wife and continued his long-time passion of being part of the Amateur Radio Community as a relay operator using the call letters N4DY. “Trick,” as he was known to family and close friends, is survived by his sister Laurette, nephews Wayne and Jon, nieces Judy, Jean, Suzie, Tracey, Sonia and many great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Daphne, father Samuel, mother Lillian, older brother Teddy, sisters Patricia and Joy and niece Nancy. Desmond will be laid to rest on Friday, January 20, 2017 at Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens in Pensacola, Florida.
