Charles F. Kelly

Charles Franklin Kelly age 88 passed away February 20, 2023 at his home in Pensacola surrounded by his family. Frank was born 10/31/1934 in Hacoda, Alabama to parents Corbit and Maddie Kelly. He graduated from Samson High School and then served 2 years in the Army. He married Barbara Watson Kelly and had 2 children. As a young man he moved to Pensacola where he was employed by St. Regis Paper Co for 35 years and held a Supervisory position before his retirement. He later joined his son at Supreme Paper Supplies for 32-1/2 years. Frank had a strong work ethic. In his early days he was a baseball coach at Brent Ballpark. He led his team to win the World Series several times. He was also an avid quail and deer hunter; he loved freshwater fishing and Alabama football.

Out of all of Frank’s achievements, his greatest joy was his family. He will be forever cherished and remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and doting Papa. He would do anything for his family. He will be forever missed. A part of daddy’s heart was always in Hacoda and his love for country life is instilled in his children and grandchildren.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved Aunt Mozelle who helped raise him after his mother’s early death, his brother James Kelly and his sister Helen McKenzie. He is survived by his wife Barbara Watson Kelly of 64 years, son Charles Terrell Kelly (Cheryl), daughter Janet Lord (Tommy), 6 grandchildren — Shannon, Kristen, Rachel, Ethan, Andrew and Sarah, 5 great grand-children and 1 great great grandchild who brought a smile to his face. Frank never met a stranger and all who met him loved him.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 24, 2023 from 1:30-2:30pm followed by the Memorial service at 2:30pm at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel on Scenic Highway. Interment and reception will be at Bayview following the service.
