Carol was born January 10, 1959 in Cleveland, Ohio to Joseph Smith and Lois Smith (Thein). The youngest of five, she grew up in Ohio surrounded by family and loved ones. She lived a life as a wife, Mother of three, and homemaker traveling with her family down the east coast finally settling in Pace, Florida. A loyal Cleveland Browns and Indians fan, you’d often find Carol cheering on her teams, no matter the success of the season, and if she had any say in the matter she’d half jokingly let us all know that she’d want her Browns as her pallbearers so they could let her down one last time.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Collins; her three children, Elsa Collins, Lois Sellers (Nick Sellers), and Robert Collins; her three brothers, Dave Smith (Lori Smith), Don Smith, Marty Smith; her sister, Patty Fitzpatrick (Richard Fitzpatrick); her sisters-in-law, Kathy Derga (Chris Derga) and Sally Collins; her brother-in-law, John Collins; and her four nieces and four nephews.
A private family viewing will be held at the Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel.
