She was born to Eric and Sheila Jenner on May 1 , 1942 in Thornton Heath England which is a district in the London borough of Croydon.
Brenda grew up in post WWII England and had many stories of the hardships that her family faced as England began their recovery from the War.
After completing her studies at Whitehorse Manor School she began her first job at the Standard Chartered Bank in the financial district of London. She lived in England until 1960 when she moved with her parents and best friend Maureen to Miami, Florida as her father looked to make a better life for his family in the United States.
Brenda met her husband Jim in Miami which led to a marriage of 50 years and two sons, Kevin who was born in Miami and Kenneth who was born after the family moved to Key West. In 1980 the family moved to Pace, Florida and her parents then retired to Pensacola several years later.
Brenda had a 20 year career with the Longaberger Company and became a National Sales Director, she had a great work ethic and a real enthusiasm for her job. She was very proud of being English but also took great satisfaction in becoming a citizen of the United States in 1995.
After completing her work career she took on the role of caretaker of her mother and husband as they both endured lengthy illnesses later in life.
Brenda was a devout Christian and a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Milton, Florida. She like her father had a special place in her heart for those less fortunate or in need and did whatever she could to help and care for them.
She was preceded in death by her parents Eric and Sheila Jenner, her husband of 50 years Jim Avera, and her beloved Uncle Maurice Jenner, Aunt Dorothy Ward.
She leaves behind two sons Kevin and Kenneth Avera, daughter-in-law Stephanie Sophia Avera, and her cousin Ian Ward of Croydon, England.
The family would like to thank Shirley Biggs for her years of companionship and care and the staff at Summer Vista Assisted Living. Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.bayviewfisher-pouchapel.com
