1951 - 2022
Smart. Loving. Caring. Patricia “Patti” Lynn Tice Armstrong, focused on her family and hard work to achieve many things in life. She was formal, yet quick with a laugh. She enjoyed being part of a family that cared for each other and always remained resilient in the face of adversity. Patti loved her girls, husband Jack Armstrong, grandchildren and her beloved Roxie. She always wanted to see people around her succeed and was always willing to open doors to make it happen. Patti was a force in her family and friends’ lives who knew that she cared for them in her private way - she will be greatly missed.
Who was Patti? She was a daughter, mother, wife, aunt, and grandmother to countless family, and whose word was her bond. Born and raised in Leeds, AL her first love and marriage was to Mike Minor. She and Mike had a daughter, Jennifer Minor (Hannah) and spent many years together until their marriage had ended. Later on she rekindled her high school romance with Jack Armstrong and began a new happy chapter in her life. Patti had a second daughter, Lauren Elesabeth Armstrong after moving to Pell City where she spent the rest of her life. Patti was also a member of the Cropwell Baptist Church for many years.
Patti was a modern woman and was fiercely independent. She worked for almost 40 years as a legal secretary in Birmingham at various law firms and attorneys. Patti finished her career with the prestigious law firm of Sirote & Permutt. Patti was excellent at her job and was very proud of her work. After retiring, she loved living on Logan Martin Lake and always enjoyed a relaxing morning cup of coffee or a glass of wine over a beautiful sunset, along with boat rides, gardening, and being around her wonderful grandchildren. Patti and Jack spent many hours cruising the lake and hanging out with their friends and family.
She was only 71 when she passed peacefully with her loved ones at her bedside on November 13th after battling dementia for over 9 years. Patti was born January 22,1951 and predeceased by her parents, Betty Evelyn Scott of Duddleston, Birmingham, England and Delmer Eugene Tice of Cross City, Florida. She had one sister, Vicki Ann Tice (Anderson) who she dearly loved.
Patti was happily married for just over 40 years to Jack Armstrong. Jack became a wonderful stepfather to Jennifer when she was only 8 years old and helped raise her. They had Lauren several years after getting married and treasured both of their girls.
Patti is survived by her husband, Jack Raymond Armstrong, daughters Jennifer Hannah (Jason) and Lauren Crisman (Kyle). Her grandchildren are Hallie Kate Hannah, Ty Hannah, Cason Hannah, Natalyne Crisman & Kevin Crisman. Her sister is Vicki Anderson (Bucky) and her nephews are Sailor Andrew & Jeremy Wolfe Anderson. She also had numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends in Alabama, Florida, and California. She dearly loved all of her family and friends. A special thanks to Plantation Manor in McCalla for their loving care.
