Judith Elaine Grainger

She is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Grainger and daughter, Robia Malam.

She is survived by her daughters: Melissa (Russell) Krautheim, Amy (Harold Sr.) Shader, sisters Joyce C. Byrd, Wanda (Joey) Posey and 6 grandchildren; Harold Jr., Warren, Sierra, Joshua, Isabelle and Gabrielle.

Judy was born in Fairfield, Alabama and attended Fairfield High School, the University of Alabama Tuscaloosa, and the University of Alabama Birmingham. She earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree (Magna cum laude) from UAB, all while working full time and raising 3 daughters. What a woman! She enjoyed spending time at the lake, the beach and the annual Smoky Mountain camping trips with all of her family and friends. She loved dancing and skiing and enjoyed the good times and trips with the Magic City Boppers and the Birmingham Ski Club. What she especially loved to do was travel with the love of her life, Gerald. They enjoyed many adventures together abroad as well as visiting all 50 states. Judy loved The Lord with all her heart and loved her churches, Fairfield First Methodist and Pell City United Methodist Church. She was a strong and faith filled woman who was loved by many. We were blessed to have had her in our lives, and now as our guardian angel. We will all love and miss her.

Celebration of Life will be on January 18, 2025 - 11:00 am - Pell City United Methodist Church, 2200 3rd Avenue North, Pell City 35125.
