William Perry Shaw, Jr. of Vestavia Hills, AL passed away on August 17, 2024. He was born in New York, NY on August 3, 1930. "Billy" graduated from Woodlawn High School and attended Birmingham Southern College. He was married to Joan Wortham Shaw on September 2, 1950. Billy proudly served in The United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and worked as an Architect and Engineer for Rust Engineering. He proudly put all four of his boys through college and never missed a single one of their sporting events, ceremonies or performances.
He was preceded in death by his Wife of 70 years (Joan Wortham Shaw) and his son (Guy Bruce Shaw). He is survived by Three Sons: Steven Randall Shaw, Christopher Joel Shaw and Kevin Michael Shaw, Eight Grandchildren: Kimberly Lynn Shaw, Lisa Shaw Tillery, Thomas William Shaw, Holly Ann Shaw, Elisabeth Bilek, Christopher Joel Shaw, Jr., Katharine Paule Shaw and Kristian Marchand Shaw. Six Great Grandchildren: Braden Tyler Tillery, Ethan Parker Tillery, Ella Monroe Mccullough, Olivia Erin Shaw, Elijah Owen Shaw and Emelia Jean Bilek.
His motto in life was "Never Lose Your Sense of Humor" and he never did!
A visitation for William will be held Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home and Cemetery, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 PM.
