Virginia Gorman passed away at the age of 86 on March 8, 2019. She was born February 14, 1933. She is preceded in death by her husband A. Thomas Gorman; her parents John and Mary Virtus; her brothers Dave Virtus (Dorothy) and John Virtus; and her grandson Alan Brockman. She is survived by her children Thomas A. Gorman (Peggy), Donald S. Gorman (Juli), James P. Gorman (Deborah), Mary E. Gorman, and Robert B. Gorman (Danielle); as well as her sister-in-law Barbara Virtus; her grandchildren Michele Gorman, Tiffany Gorman, Dustin Gorman (Angie), and Angela Gorman; her great grandchildren Steven Brockman, Joseph Gorman, and Landon Broadwell. Virginia was born in Wall, PA and attended Pitcairn High School where she was a majorette and studied secretarial studies. Virginia was the mother of five beautiful children and had many surrogates. She loved to cook, read, and swim when she had time. Her passion was singing in the choir at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. She spent many years in Sweet Adeline’s Barbershop Chorus where she sang in Carnegie Hall. She was loved by many and will be missed by all. Her memorial will be April 5, 2019 at St. Peters Catholic Church at 12pm in Hoover, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Heart Association.
