Louise Shirley Steafken Pearce was born on October 1, 1941, in Birmingham, Alabama to August and Louise Steafken. Shirley married Frank Terry Pearce on July 16, 1962, and they were blessed with two daughters during their almost 60 year marriage. She retired from Jefferson County as a family court clerk with over ten years of service. Nana, as she was lovingly referred to by her family, was an avid quilter, and she enjoyed making her own seasonings, spices, jellies and sauces. She loved being with her family, anything Auburn related, and watching reruns of Perry Mason and Murder, She Wrote. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, August Frederick Steafken Jr and Louise Irene Steafken Daniel, and her beloved husband, Frank Terry Pearce. She is survived by her two daughters, Leigh Ann Pearce and Pamela Pearce (Michael); three granddaughters, Ashley Pearce, Brittany (Reeves) Templeton (Greg), and Kaitlynn Reeves (Courtney); sisters, Gail Mann (David) and Judy McCann, plus cousins, nieces, nephews and friends all who adored her.
Visitation will be held at Southern Heritage Funeral Home from 1-2pm on Monday, December 16, 2024, with service to follow at 2pm.
