First day on Earth, October 6, 2018
First day in Heaven, September 11, 2019.
Our joyful Sebastian is now running free and healed in the presence of Jesus. What an honor it was to hold and snuggle this angel, showering him with kisses and hugs. He was the light of his mother’s eyes from the moment they met. He was pure sunshine, and brightened the life of everyone who met him with his radiant smile. Despite his physical challenges, he was already rolling over, sitting up and gave the best and sweetest of hugs. He spent his days living up to his name, Sebastian, which means warrior. Everyone saw that warrior spirit in him. His 7 ½ months in NICU allowed many more to meet and adore him and marvel at the resiliency which made Sebastian who he was. He loved his brother, Caleb, dearly and they bonded like brothers do. He enjoyed playing with crinkly books, kicking his legs in the most flexible ways and making raspberries. What a blessing it was to be able to spend his final few months at home in the arms of his mother before he transitioned to the arms of Christ. What amazing eternal hope we have in Jesus, even in death, we rejoice in healing and eternal life separate from pain. Thank you to the amazing doctors, nurses and staff at Children’s Hospital for countless hours of care and support in our journey.
Sebastian is survived by his mother, Denise Marie Champion, and his big brother, his “Booba,” Caleb Sanders Champion.
Service will be held at The Church at Brook Hills on Thursday, September 26, 2019. There will be a visitation at 1:00 pm and a service will begin at 2:00 pm. A reception will follow at 3:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family to honor Sebastian's legacy through a future adoption.
