Patsy Ann Hearn Armstrong

Patsy Ann Hearn Armstrong passed away Wednesday morning, November 27, 2023, just days before her 81st birthday. "Pat" was born Dec. 8, 1942 in Charleston, West Virginia. She and her family moved to the Bush Hills section of Birmingham, Alabama in Summer 1955.

Pat attended Minor Elementary and Ensley High schools, graduating in 1961. She worked at the home office of Liberty National Life Insurance Company. Later, she worked at an Auburn, Alabama bank while her husband Wayne earned a degree at Auburn University.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Lola Mae Reed Hearn and Eugene Hearn, and her two older brothers, Gonn "Johnny" Hearn and Danny Hearn. She is survived by her spouse, Wayne Armstrong; two sons, Brett (wife Angela) and Derek (wife Melissa); a brother, Jerry Hearn (wife Mary Lynne); her grandchildren, Drew, Mace, and Christian Armstrong; a sister-in-law, Vivian; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Pat was a devoted Christian and was always there for her family and friends despite her personal battle with a serious autoimmune disease for over 40 years. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.

Tyler Hearn will officiate at Pat's funeral at 2 p.m. on December 5, 2023 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama. Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. on December 5 at the funeral home located at 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124. Pat will be laid to rest at Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham.
