Matthew completed the special education program of Berry Middle School in 2002. He enjoyed attending high school and college sporting events. His favorite sports were any sports his friends or nephews were playing, and he was their biggest fan.
Matthew was preceded in death by his loving grandparents, Margie and Richard Wallace, and Catherine and Cleveland Rush.
Survivors include Matthew's parents, David and Lynn Rush; his sisters, Kristi Ketner (Todd) and Amy Lachina (Brian); his nephews, Rush, Mason and Sawyer Lachina, and Sam Ketner; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; and his caregiver, Shelly Test.
Matthew spent his earthly life limited by cerebral palsy. We rejoice knowing he has a perfect body and is in the presence of our Lord and Savior.
Funeral arrangements will be Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama. Visitation will be 1 p.m. with the funeral service following at 2 p.m.
