Leo James, age 91 of Birmingham, AL passed away March 28, 2021. Leo was a home builder, a devoted friend, and a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He gave his family a strong foundation, modeling a life of faith, a strong work ethic, a love of family, and an unwavering devotion to the Crimson Tide. He was active in his church and community and loved traveling with his wife and family.
Preceded in death by his wife of 64 years Olga Vickers James and his sister and brothers.
Survived by daughters, Patti (Rick) White of Gilbert, AZ and Pam James Travis of Birmingham, AL; grandchildren, Carrie White (Matt) Roden, Jamie Elliott (Ryan) Miningham, Tori White (Derek) Jones, Joy Travis and Hope White; great grandchildren, Sophie, Will, Lillie and Lucie Roden, Leo, Ellie and Georgia Miningham, Zoe, Lincoln and Charlie Jones.
Visitation will be held at 12 p.m. with funeral services conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 10 at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124. Son in law, Rick White will officiate. The family requests no flowers but rather that you would share special time with those you love and give thanks for all the blessings of life.
The family will be dressed for Game Day to celebrate Leo's life and would love for you to come in your favorite team's colors.
