Kimberly Brough Rogers

It is with both sadness and joy that we share with you that Kim Brough Rogers, beautiful wife of Mike Rogers, beloved daughter of Walter & Judy Brough, sister of Jason Brough, went to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, Tuesday afternoon, June 27 at home in Hoover, Alabama. Kim loved fiercely. She fought for her life for many years starting with a diabetes diagnosis at 9 and scleroderma at 12. She valiantly fought ever increasing auto-immune disorders through the years and yet it was ALS that that the Lord ultimately let take her. She defied all predictions of her longevity, and enjoyed a career as a highly valued analyst/underwriter at Blue Cross Blue Shield for over 30 years, became a gourmet cook, a square dancer, and devoted herself to her family. She met the love of her life in her late 30’s. Kim and Mike enjoyed 21 years together before her time on earth was done.

She leaves behind husband, Mike, parents, Walter and Judy, brother, Jason, sister-in-law, Carmen, nieces and nephews, Sophia, Jack, Luke and Caroline, all of whom she adored. Also aunts, Anne Ross and Terry Eimutus and many friends, and former co-workers. In her last days, there was a revolving door at the house as many came to show their love for her and see her beautiful smile one last time. The day before she left us, she sang “Happy Birthday” to her nephew Luke and listened as her family shared stories and memories of times spent with her. Surrounded by her husband, parents, and other family and friends, her father led in singing “How Great Thou Art”. She entered eternity moments later.

Kim’s funeral will be Saturday, July 8 at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124. Visitation is 10-11 am, Chapel service at 11 followed immediately by a graveside service. She will be dearly missed.
