BARTON, JESSE DAVIS, MSGT-USAF-Retired, age 81, of Indian Springs Village, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2010. Jess was a Flight Engineer with the 59th Weather Reconnaissance Squadron in Bermuda as a Hurricane Hunter as well as other assignments with Strategic Air Command and Tactical Air Command.
Jess was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Floyce Barton. Survivors include Jess's wife of 55 ½ years, Eloise Crumley Barton; one daughter, Karen Barton; one son, Jon (Lisa) Barton; two grandchildren, Nick and Lisabeth Barton; and a sister, Carolyn (Charles) Knowles. Jess was also blessed with many other special family, including aunts, in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
With full military honors, the graveside service was at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 1, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama. Rev. Rick Bishop officiated.
