Jerry Otts Minor, 73, of Indian Springs Village, Alabama, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 22, 2022. While the family is very sad and grieving, we know that he is completely healed and at peace.
Jerry was born in Beaverton, Alabama on June 16, 1948. He was a graduate of Winfield High School who had a professional career in selling construction equipment.
Jerry was a Deacon at Briarwood Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, Alabama. He was a member of two men's Bible studies, and he and his wife, Jeannette, participated in a couples Bible study. In his leisure, he enjoyed being with his family and friends, playing golf, and reading.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Leslie Minor and Addie Lee Minor of Winfield, Alabama, and a brother, Reedus Minor of Birmingham.
Survivors include Jerry's wife, the former Jeannette Sexton, to whom he was married on August 26, 1977; one daughter, Ashley (Patrick) Minor Maples; two grandchildren, Kristin (Cody) Marie Alverson and Jacob Tyler Maples; and one brother, James Cletus Minor.
Friends and family are invited to the graveside service at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at Southern Heritage Cemetery in Pelham, Alabama. Also on Wednesday, May 25, the family will greet friends from 1-2 p.m. at Briarwood Presbyterian Church, immediately followed by A Celebration of Life for Jerry Minor at 2 p.m. in the church's main sanctuary.
