Jeffrey Michael Clowdus, playfully known as “Fro,” of Pelham, Alabama, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2024 at the age of 51. Born in Fairfield, Alabama on November 11, 1972, he lived a life filled with humor, sarcasm, spirited tactics, and devotion to his family and friends.
Jeff graduated from Huffman High School and earned his Associate of Applied Science in Drafting and Design Technology from Wallace State College, where he crafted a short career with his trademark dedication and skill. But beyond his professional life, his true joy came from the simple pleasures – being part of “Waffle House Regulars,” spoiling his adored nieces, and caring for his loyal canine companion, Maximus. His love for Max was evident to all who knew him and he wore the title of “dog dad” with pride.
For 30 years, Jeff shared a beautiful life with Tracy Nash, his loving partner. Their enduring bond was a testament to their deep connection and love for one another. He was also a cherished son, brother, and uncle, and leaves behind a close-knit family, including his father, Gary “Pete” Clowdus; his sister, Jenifer “Jenny” Clowdus; “favorite” baby sister, Joanie Clowdus Kodya with husband Chris Kodya; and his treasured nieces, Casey and McKinley. He will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, including special members Tammy Strickland, Karen “Katie” Cleveland, and the many aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him. Jeff was preceded in death by his mother, Mamie C. Clowdus; his grandparents, Gene and Sue Clowdus, Betty Thompson, and Rex Casey; as well as many beloved aunts and uncles who are undoubtedly welcoming him home.
Despite being born with the birth defect Spina Bifida, Jeff never let it define him or limit his zest for life. He rose far above the challenges, choosing instead to embrace humor, playfulness, and a sharp wit to navigate the world. With his signature sarcasm and gruff spirit, Jeff lived life to the fullest, inspiring everyone around him with his resilience and “joyful” outlook. His ability to find laughter in any situation made him an endearing friend and family member, reminding us all that life’s obstacles are no match for a heart full of humor and determination.
Rest in peace, Jeff. You brought light and laughter into this world, and your legacy of love will continue to shine.
