She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was born on October 21, 1946 to the late Beverly Poirier and Rudolph James Pourciau.
Janet received her formal education at Baton Rouge High School in Louisiana. Janet was a member of the Bocage Racquet Club for over 20 years where she loved playing league tennis. She was an established artist and a member of the Louisiana Art and Artist Guild. She loved painting in oils, acrylics, and watercolor. She enjoyed doing mosaics and making jewelry. She was attending Westwood Baptist Church. In her leisure time she loved to travel and go to casinos with her family and friends. Janet was married to Charles Anderson for 33 years. Their union was blessed with three children. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Rudolph and Beverly Pourciau; her brother, Jimmy Pourciau, Jr; brother-in-law, Mike Ebbert; sister-in-law, Margo Pourciau.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 33 years, Charles Anderson; three children, Terri Blair (Nape), Cindy Thornton (Dustin), and Darren Anderson; grandchildren, Tabitha (Stephen), Timothy, Travis (Meghan), Jerian, Justin (Heather), Jordan (Kaytlyn), Brooke, Jade and Lexi; 11 great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Mark Pourciau and Warren Pourciau; one sister, Peggy Ebbert; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 29 at 1:00 p.m. followed by A Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 p.m. at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL.
