Mr. Jack Reginald Burleson died Saturday, November 5, 2022, at the age of 92. He passed away at the Colonel Robert L. Howard State Veterans Home, where he lived and received quality, loving care for the last eighteen months.
Mr. Burleson was born in Nauvoo, Alabama, and grew up in Birmingham, Alabama, with his parents and his brother. He graduated from Woodlawn High School. He proudly served as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps and was involved in heavy combat in the Korean War. Mr. Burleson spent a significant amount of his career in the automobile sales business. He was well known throughout the area as a top sales professional. Mr. Burleson was very much a people person and always believed in living life to the fullest. He also loved his family very much and enjoyed any time he could spend time with them.
He is survived by his two sons, Reggie (Cindy) of Pell City, AL and Tommy (Pam) of Hoover, AL, grandchildren Trey Burleson (Raquel), Jamie Burleson, Todd Burleson (Amber) and Cy Burleson (Kendall), and great-grandchildren Annie Burleson, Will Burleson, Reid Burleson and Pearl Burleson. He is preceded in death by his parents William Murray Burleson and Mabel Edna Beard Burleson, his stepmother Lucille Burleson, and his brother, Bill Burleson (Loyda).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorials be sent to the Benevolent Fund, Colonel Robert L. Howard State Veterans Home, 7054 Veterans Parkway, Pell City, AL 35125.
Graveside services will be held at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, AL on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at 1:15 pm.
