Gary Lane Busenlehner, 35, passed away on October 20, 2020 at his home in Ocala, Florida. He was born on December 6, 1984 in Homewood, Alabama to Scott M. Busenlehner of Homewood and Giovanna Kay Burnett Busenlehner of Alabaster, Alabama.
Gary graduated from Thompson High School, Alabaster in May 2003. He served in the United States Navy for nine years as a Nuclear Technician with three tours aboard the USS John C. Stennis supporting the War on Terrorism, and operating as a Technical Instructor in the Nuclear Technician training school in Charleston, South Carolina. He later worked several years as a Maintenance Mechanic on deep-sea oil drilling platforms in the Gulf of Mexico.
In 2017, Gary graduated from The University of Alabama with a BA in Communications Degree with a focus in Creative Media. He was employed as a Maintenance Electrician at Silver Springs Bottling Company in Ocala, Florida and recently was accepted to UCF where he wished to pursue a BS in Aerospace Engineering.
Gary touched lives wherever he went and was loved by so many. He loved to be with friends and family; he inspired kids by sharing his knowledge and passion for life. He was boisterous, fun-loving, and worked hard to spend quality time with family and loved ones.
Gary is survived by his parents, Scott and Giovanna Busenlehner; his brother and sister-in-law, Phillip and Alie Busenlehner; his sister, Karen Busenlehner; and grandfather, Clarence "Buddy" Busenlehner.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama on Wednesday, October 28, 2020. That same day, visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with the chapel service immediately following at 11 a.m. at the funeral home and the gravesite committal service with military honors at 1:15 p.m. at Alabama National Cemetery, Montevallo.
