Mr. Hatcher served in the National Guard and received his Bachelor Degree at the University of Montevallo, Alabama and his Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from the University of Alabama, Birmingham. He worked in hospital administration until his retirement.
Mr. Hatcher was predeceased by his wife of 43 years, Eileen Holland Hatcher. Survivors include two sons, Don R. (Amy) Hatcher of Findlay, Ohio and David (Suzanne) Hatcher of Canton, Georgia; one grandson, Michael Hatcher; and three granddaughters, Caroline, Holland, and Reagan Hatcher.
The family will greet friends from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Ridout’s Southern Heritage Funeral Home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124. Also on March 31, the graveside service will begin at 2 p.m. at Southern Heritage Cemetery, which adjoins the funeral home in Pelham.
