Debra Davis Slocum, Mom/Deb/YaYa, of Birmingham, Alabama ascended to life eternal with her Lord Jesus on the morning of June 23, 2022. Born June 4, 1953, she was an artist and graduate of the Mississippi University for Women.
Debra was predeceased by her parents, Thomas Brunner Davis Jr. and Nadine Johnson Davis, and her siblings, Tommie Darlene Decker and Steven Paul Davis.
Survivors include Debra's four sons, Jeremy Redding Slocum (Tiffany), Gaines Brantley Slocum, Andrew Bailey Slocum (Rachel), and Stephen Davis Slocum; her grandchildren, Riley Jane Slocum, Davis Redding Slocum, and Pierce Henry Slocum; siblings, Thomas Brunner Davis III and Linda Davis Hampton (David); nieces and nephews, David Mark Slocum Jr. (Brooke), Cindy Bauman (John), and Andrea Slocum Del Balso (Brett); great-nephew and great-niece, Seth Andrew Slocum and Adeline Marie Slocum; as well as numerous other nieces/nephews, cousins and friends.
Debra will be fondly remembered as a talented artist and selfless, loving mother, grandmother, and friend. Her legacy of loving and supporting children will be forever cherished.
At Debra's request, services will not be held.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Methodist Children’s Homes of Mississippi or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
