Clay F. Alford, 69, of Pelham walked hand in hand with Jesus to the Big Meeting in the sky on August 11, 2018. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clay F. Alford, Sr., and Jeanette Reeves Alford, as well as his sister, Barbara Alford Underwood. Clay was a man of few words, but what he did share was from the heart. He loved his family, was a good and faithful friend, as well as a wonderful husband and father. His dedication was visible, not only in his relationships with others, but also in his long career with Moore-Handley, a company he served faithfully until finally closing its doors. He brought this same intense work-ethic to his community engagement, serving on the City of Pelham Commercial Development Authority and devoting himself to Crosscreek Baptist Church. He was likewise a generous neighbor to many in need. His kind, giving spirit did a great service to those who knew him. Clay is survived by his loving wife, Pam Alford; his daughter, Melissa Alford Ramadan (Joel); his step-children, Kimberly Lee (Shawn) and Joe Fountain (Jennifer); his brother, Johnny Alford (Marsha), his nephew, John and his niece, Carrie. Clay and Pam have also been blessed with wonderful grandchildren: Alex Lee, Robin Lee, Atticus Lee, Cameron Fountain, Carter Fountain, Benjamin Lovett, Graham Lovett, Carson Lovett, Joel Ramadan, Jr., Alex Ramadan, Harper Ramadan, and Paris Ramadan. He is also survived by two beloved pets, Rocky and Puddy.
All who would like to join in celebrating Clay’s life are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, August 14 from 6-8 pm at Crosscreek Baptist Church in Pelham, funeral to follow on Wednesday, August 15 at 1 pm in the sanctuary. The church is located at 600 Crosscreek Trail, Pelham, AL 35124.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Crosscreek Baptist Church. Funds should be designated for the Memorial for Clay Alford.
