Clark was born in Trenton, New Jersey and he was raised in Hightstown, New Jersey. He graduated from Hightstown High School in 1972, and he attended both Pennsylvania State University and Rutgers University before moving to Alabaster, Alabama in 2006.
Mr. Hutchinson enjoyed a lifelong interest in history, and started pursuing that passion through his high school history club and the Exploring NJ club. He started the Hightstown Historical society Library with friend, Bob Craig and is the past- president of the Hightstown Historical Society. Clark also served on the East Windsor Township Historic Preservation Commission and produced their newsletter for over 10 years. He was on the NJ Postal History Committee as well as the Hightstown Borough Historical Preservation Commission. In fact, Clark was still active with the Hightstown Historical Society, providing histories of historic homes for their House Tour.
Mr. Hutchinson is survived by his wife of over 20 years, Suzanne Rebecca Hutchinson; parents, Hazel and Gordon Hutchinson; step-son, Jared Owen Rust; step-daughter, April June Rust; grandchildren, Baeleigh June Bonfonti, Aidan Edgar Hodges and Elizabeth June Rust; nephew, Zach Hutchinson (Marie); aunt, Ethel Copes; cousins, Marj Ritter, Patty Patrick and Richard Hutchinson; close friend, Robert Rust; and a best friend of over 50 years, Robert Craig. Clark is preceded in death by his brother, Edward Hutchinson.
A memorial service to celebrate Clark’s life will be at 11:00am on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Southside Baptist Church in Alabaster, Alabama with Dr. James D. Davis officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Clark may be made to Southside Baptist Church, 7183 Highway 119, Alabaster, AL 35007.
